Remove Discharge without Conviction as an option for offenders of Sexual Violence

Remove Discharge without Conviction as an option for offenders of Sexual Violence
Why this petition matters

On Friday the 12th of December 2020 I was indecently assaulted by a work colleague, causing physical harm including bruising and hand marks on my body as well as long term emotional harm.
15 months later my perpetrator went up for sentencing, where he was successfully granted a "Section 106, Discharge without Conviction" which means although he was guilty of his crimes there would be no criminal record or consequence.
Frustrated and surprised with this outcome, I took to social media to see if anyone else had a similar experience. I was shocked to receive dozens of messages from both men and woman who had been in very similar situations with the same outcome. This has made me aware that this issue is on a much greater scale than what I had initially thought.
Although I can't change the outcome of my situation, I want to raise awareness to this issue and help victims of sexual violence moving forward.
If victims can't get a second chance why should offenders ?
