Issues/Concerns
- For over five years the current executive body has failed to call an AGM, thus rendering the life of the executive body as expired.
- Lack of accountability of the coop's finances. The current executive body has failed to conduct a financial audit of the coop's finances at least once a year as stipulated by law under Chapter 88:01.
- The current executive body has failed to keep proper records of the society's registered members as required by law. The executive body could not present nor confirm the accuracy of the number of members registered at a Special Meeting held in 2021.
- The current executive body has failed to properly inform and consult with the members on decisions being made, hence denying the members their right to vote as outlined by law.
- The executive body has been issuing membership to persons without proper consultation with the members as outlined by law.
- The executive body is issuing leases for lands to persons without proper consultation with members as laid out by law under 88:01, while the body's legal time in office has expired.
- The executive body does not use prescribe forms of communication nor updated their form of communicating with members, to ensure that information as it relates to the dates of meetings is properly received.
- The executive body has denied and ignored members' expression of interest, to facilitate the issuing of leases to relatives, rather than consulting with the members.
- The members of the society have lost trust in the current executive body, due to the Executive body's failure to properly consult with members on the recent development plans for prime real estate land owned by the members of the society.
- The current executive body has been clouded with accusations by members being concerned that certain transactions agreed to, might be fraudulent, and raises an integrity concern.
- Lack of transparency and communication by the executive body.
- Fear that the current executive body may be attempting to lease out prime real estate lands belonging to members of the society without proper consultation with the members before calling an AGM.
- Lack of accountability for money collected from members of the society and various rentals.
- Issuing of membership and leasing of land to persons that were never members of the society nor residents within the Society.

Solutions
- The current executive body demits office since the executive body’s time in office has long expired and has failed to organize and call AGM as stipulated by Law.
- An interim body made up of members be put in place.
- The current executive body hand over all records and keys to the interim body.
- The interim body is given a time frame to bring the society to order, ensure that a financial audit and audit of the membership register is conducted, and outline a date for the hosting of an AGM.
- Proper consultation and communication with members.
Signing this petition will help to bring about a much-needed change and awareness as to the management of the society while protecting the assets of the members’ hence bringing the society to a level of accountability and transparency that is up to date with today’s standard `procedure of operations. By signing this petition we seek to bring about awareness as to current issues within Melanie Damishana and change to the current executive body of the Vigalstra Housing Society.
