Blocksi is a piece of software installed on Sudbury, MA public school Chromebooks.  It can do many things to invade the student's privacy, including live streaming the webcam, recording the microphone, and viewing the screen.  It is essentially spyware.  Blocksi is especially detrimental to students who only have access to their school-supplied Chromebooks.  

    In any school, there should never be a dynamic where the teachers are trying to catch students doing something wrong.  Most students know that the teachers can see their screens, but many don't know the extent that which their teachers can see.  The teachers don't make it clear either.  They can access the camera, microphone, and location of the Chromebook.

    Blocksi is a subscription service that the schools pay for with your tax dollars.  Do you want your money to go towards spying on children?  It doesn't stop students from playing games, it just teaches them not to get caught.

    Those are some ways that Blocksi hurts more than it helps.  Even if it isn't technically illegal, which I believe it is, it is morally wrong.  Help protect the privacy of students!  Every person who signs is another person against schools invading the privacy of students.
