We as a group have been playing 5e for 5 years. Over the course of these 5 years, we have adhered to the standard method of movement for handling grid-based combat. One of the DMS in the group has recently begun a campaign in which he has chosen to implement the optional diagonals rule(page 252 DMG). Much to the group's dismay, After countless attempts at reason and appeals to his better judgment from every player at the table he has resigned, are fate to this change.org petition demanding of us 20 signatures.

Now not only do we wish to overturn this ruling for the sake of the people most accustomed to the normal ruling, but we have also brought in 2 new players who with very limited game experience have been struggling with this new ruling.
