The playset on Webb Green was erected on July 9, 2022. by HOA Board vote. 

1) It was added to an existing amenity without community involvement or opportunity for input.  

2) It does not meet Springfield's aesthetic and safety standards established in Bauer and Orchard Park playgrounds. 

3) It does not meet manufacturer safety standards as stated on the playset placard. It is rated for children up to 6 years old only and recommends shock absorbing material around and under in addition to "constant adult supervision".  (Bauer and Orchard parks have 9 inches of mulch to cushion falls and is in a fenced in area) Who will police that older kids who play on the set potentially rendering it unsafe for toddlers?

4) It was erected without a Fort Mill City permit and sign-off from the Town of Fort Mill Building Officials. This is a liability issue that we all share according to the town.  They also state building this type of playground without a permit is illegal and they will be contacting the HOA Board as of July 18. 

5) It fundamentally changes the use of the park from a sports field for elementary and middle school residents (for the past 11 years) to a playground. Again, this was done without researching the demographics of those in the direct vicinity of the park or survey of those immediately impacted by this change in amenity.
