The purpose of this petition is to have the San Bruno Park School District School Board to remove the black chain-link fence at Portola Elementary School that was recently installed. The chain link fence separates the blacktop playground with the grass field. Portola Elementary School was built in the mid1960s. In 62 years, there has never been a need for a fence at this location and nor is it needed now. There was never a discussion with the residents, school principal, staff, school parents and community before the fence was installed. We also want the San Bruno Park School District to start watering and cutting the field on a constant basis, so it will be more enjoyable for kids to play on. The signatures below represent the community and parents that want the fence removed and the field watered before the end of the school year.
