Robert Eggers, visionary director of 'The Lighthouse' and 'The Witch', has a new movie releasing titled 'The Northman'. After screening the movie, which has his usual strangeness, the movie studio was not happy. They re-edited the film to be less strange, and be more accessible to a larger audience. The original Northman had the potential to be one of the greatest films of all time. While I don't disagree with editing the film to be accessible to a larger audience, we have been robbed of a true masterpiece. At the very least, Focus Features should release the directors cut to streaming services.
