Prof., Emmanuel Obot was a victim of the plane crash in Lagos, Nigeria, on 06/03/2012. He came out intact. His body was the sixth identified by family, coworkers, and friend. He had his wallet with him with his identity cards, and credit cards. His clothes were intact, and in fact are still at the Lagos State University Mortuary. An autopsy was done on his identified body, a procedure that was not needed since he died in the plane crash. The chief pathologist for the Lagos state government insisted on a DNA test, after all these points of identity was done. Speaking with the Lagos state commissioner for special duties, the chief pathologist told the commissioner that the son of Prof. Emmanuel Obot insulted him, so he will not release the body. This has delayed the release of his body till today. We want his body to be released for burial, and to bring closure to his family. If identity is the issue, the chief pathologist admitted in a phone call from the Commissioner for special duties that Prof. Emmanuel Obot has been duly identified, since he can recognize insult from his son.
