I’m starting this petition for the sake of my children’s health and others. Once again a heatwave has arrived in the UK and school children are still being made to wear full uniform to school during this ridiculously hot period.

While SOME schools have released notice saying children can wear shorts or PE kits during this hot period, not all have and I think it should be compulsory for school to allow lighter clothes during hotter periods. 

Schools don’t have air conditioning, there aren’t sufficient fans to keep them cool but still they are required to wear full uniform because they have to look “SMART”. 

Girls are allowed to wear skirts but boys aren’t allowed to wear smart shorts which I think is totally unacceptable! These poor kids are sat indoors all day, fully clothed in extreme heat which is no good to their health at all.

Will the schools take responsibility when the children start suffering from heat exhaustion or heat stroke? No they’ll call the parents to pick up the child if they are Ill  

Something needs to be changed to look after our children's health! 

We in the UK don’t experience long periods of extreme heat in order for us to “get used to it”and I think it’s really unfair for our children to suffer during these periods of extreme heat. 

I think parliament needs to make it compulsory for schools to relax full uniform during hotter weather in order to look after our children's health and mental health!
