REJECTION FOR FACE-2-FACE TEACHING & LEARNING METHOD

REJECTION FOR FACE-2-FACE TEACHING & LEARNING METHOD
In accordance with No.4 of "ACADEMIC CIRCULAR NO. 2/2022 TEACHING AND LEARNING METHODS FOR THE ENDEMIC-TRANSITION PHASE FOR SEMESTER II SESSION 2021/2022"
It is stated that if there is unavoidable constraints, Teaching & learning including the final exam can be carried out fully online.
Based on the above matters, WE WOULD LIKE TO SUGGEST FOR ONLINE TEACHING AND LEARNING METHOD IN SEMESTER 2 2021/2022 PHASE 2.
It has come to our attention that with such a short notice from the management and the Faculty of chemical Engineering and Energy, we think that it is more favorable and convenient for everyone if the change of learning mode is to be done by next semester due to several reasons:
1. First and foremost, International students will be having time constraints to make an arrangement for the visa renewal hence if it is possible there will also be delay from our embassy and if such things occur this may affect us to not be able to attend to the physical class.
2. Another concern such as financial constraints have to be considered as well as the duration that we have to come back to UTM is only for two months then we have to make another arrangement on going back to our home state. Since it's Raya season, the cost of flight tickets for student who is in Sabah, Sarawak, and other country would be highly expensive.
3. The issued statement that has been made from the management unfortunately did not consider that this sudden transition will only burden us more as there are students with other circumstances that limitate some students to not be able to attend on campus for classes.
4. Despite Malaysia that is currently entering the endemic phase, we do believe that Covid-19 is still another concern for some people. Yes, to the most of the students are already received the vaccination however this is not the only concern as we have shown exhibit 1 & 2.
We do hope that FKT can reconsider this suggestion, that we as students feel like there is an unaddressed issue before this decision is being decided by the faculty and the management. No party should be blame, but we believe that a fair arrangement could be made between lecturers and students that is inclusive to all students of FKT.
F2F would be advisable to be conducted in the next semester which is sem 1 2022/2023
