Reject the development of 58 condominium townhouse units at Broadway & C Line, Orangeville

As members of this community, we do not stand in support of the proposed zoning by-law amendment.
The proposed changes will allow the build of 58 townhouses and 127 parking spaces in a neighbourhood already experiencing high traffic. This build would drastically increase traffic on Brenda and Diane and reduce parents' confidence in the safety of their childrens' attempt to be outside. Just with the simple re-construction of the house at 340 Broadway, cars and trucks were re-routed for a faster commute through our small streets. Stop signs and speed limits were not obeyed. Once construction has been completed, the small one lane roads being used as entrances (C Line and Broadway) will be in constant use, having people consider adjusting their commute to include Brenda and smaller side roads.
Additionally, the noise created by this lengthy project will affect nearby neighbours' ability to work from home, which many residents rely heavily on, post-covid.
Finally, this will not be affordable housing. This is an investment opportunity and we will not stand by as 58 townhouses are errected with the guise of increased affordable housing. Housing that would in fact create further traffic control issues, noise polution and overflow to the neighbouring schools.
Sign this petition to keep C Line and and Broadway at its current capacity.
