For decades, route 8 in Waikiki served the military personnel at Hale Koa Hotel, and visitors staying at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, The Ilikai, Discovery Bay Center, Prince Hotel, and the Small Boat Harbor. During covid Oahu Transit decided to change the route so it served King Street and Kapiolani Street instead of the hotels in North Waikiki. As a result, soldiers and their families must wait up to half an hour to catch a bus from Hale Koa into Waikiki Beach, as well as thousands of tourists near Kalia and Ala Moana roads.  Reinstate the 8 !! A Message to Oahu Transit: Put it back where it belongs. Show respect to the military families staying at Hale Koa Military Hotel and all the tourists in North Waikiki by reinstating route 8 to its traditional route!
