Reinstate Jesus Green as a dog-free park

Jesus Green in Bethnal Green is well used enjoyed by our community and a place for parties, picnics, community events, sunbathing and playing out. It has been a space which has been dog free for over 15 years, at the request of the community, and with the backing of the council.

The dog-free signs were removed a few months ago without any consultation with the community. There is now dog poo on the Jesus Green. There are 5 parks nearby where dogs are permitted.

Residents with young children have concerns around Toxocariasis, a rare but serious infection which can cause blindness from dog poo. Children have also been scared by dogs on the Green, where previously children could play without any fear.

Please make Jesus Green a dog free space again for us all to enjoy.
