Reinstate 15million $ of R4R - Denmark Waste Water Recycling Scheme

0 have signed. Let’s get to 1,000!

Last Thursday the WA Labor government delivered their budget; Denmark was dealt another blow; the loss of the 15 million $ R4R funding for the diverting of waste water from our beautiful Wilson Inlet and a reuse scheme with customers waiting for this valuable resource.

This was an externally funded R4R project administered through Treasury - this decision is a government desktop decision.

We must collectively send a strong message to the government that this cut is not acceptable and that the decision must be reviewed; the project must go ahead; please lobby state government to turn this decision around.

This project is not one dimensional; the recent Waste Water Treatment Plant upgrade is a relatively short term fix re outfall into the Inlet; in 2017 the practice of releasing waste water into a predominantly closed inlet system is not satisfactory from both an environmental perspective and the loss of a valuable resource reuse perspective; Denmark will grow at a rate that will place more pressure on our reticulated supply, natural environment and services such as the WWTP; funding this reuse scheme is a project worth supporting.

This project was due for completion midway through 2018 with many milestones already reached. Surely this 15million $ spend is worthy of a fight; this project will be required in the not so distant future, so get behind this Petition as it may as well be right now. I will be fighting; please sign the Petition and lobby with me.

Get busy for Wilson Inlet!
