Everyone knows that the judicial system is set up to keep the rate of recidivism up. Don’t get me wrong, there are “criminals” who deserve to never see the light of day again, but those are the same “criminals” who hardly face any real punishment. Whereas someone like myself, who hasn’t committed an actual crime in nearly ten years and is a conducive member of society, continues to be railroaded. When I need actual help I’m just grouped with every other “criminal”, as if I’m trying to get over. After losing my mother to unforeseen events in 2020, I began to use marijuana as a coping mechanism. Because this is frowned upon by the federal government, probation was against it. I then suggested that I began seeing a therapist one on one, which worked until she was fired. Since then I’ve been bounced from not only counselor to counselor, but also from p.o. to p.o., making it virtually impossible to even find real help. I don’t want to make an excuse for the fact that I smoke marijuana, I am actively seeking help, but without any real help from the entity that controls my life right now.
