Extra 5000 Fee By Corporate Affairs Commission On Incorporation Documents After 7 days
I wanted to download incorporation Documents on Corporate Affairs Commission’s portal after approval and could not.
I read on the portal that because I did not download incorporation documents within 7 days of registration, I have to pay additional 5000 naira to download same.
I believe It is another form of generating revenue by Corporate Affairs Commission at the expense of lawyers plying their trade with CAC and not minding the fact that applicants had paid.
Before certificate can be issued, all fees must have been duly paid by applicants and entitled to collect same as of right after approval.
Charging extra 5000 for documents which has not even been viewed by applicants because it was not downloaded within 7 days amounts to almost double charges on the part of applicants, most especially Lawyers that cannot go back to their clients for additional fees.
Lawyers will likely have to bear the additional charges.
This policy is autocratic and needs review.
CAC should review this policy in the interest of all Stakeholders.
