A Playground/Splash Park at Shore Street/Pacific Crescent

The residents of Pacific Crescent and surrounding area wish to enhance our community by utilizing the existing community garden at Pacific Crescent/Shore Street by installing a children’s playground and splash pad.

TD Friends of the Environment Foundation recently provided a community garden grant, in the amount of $17,820.00, as a way to give back to the community and provide a green space for residents.  The community garden is underutilized and aside from mowing, is unkempt.  There is sufficient space for a park and splash pad while keeping the existing flower beds provided by the TD Friends of the Environment Foundation.

We believe that by placing a children’s playground and splash pad in this existing space, it will provide a space to be used every day by the families in the community, for residents to interact with each other and for families to engage in recreational activities in an effort to provide a sense of community.  This would make the community a more enjoyable space for residents while providing an outdoor place for children to play and aid in their development while providing a great opportunity for parents to bond with their children, thus making for a better community.
