As the dire COVID-19 situation deteriorates in Saskatchewan, our government has failed to take any action under the leadership of Scott Moe. A new, highly transmittable strand of COVID has emerged, known as the Omicron variant. As this variant rapidly spreads throughout the world to reduce transmission, protect people and the health system, nearly every other province in Canada has introduced new public restrictions along with transitioning to remote learning. These methods are proven and effective in combating airborne diseases such as COVID-19, yet our government ignores these facts and continues to risk their people and health system for unknown reasons... Omicron may be less in severity, but that is when compared to the extremely powerful Delta variant… Omicron is not the common cold and still does pose serious health threats to people and our health system. We are calling out the failure of our government to take the required action.

Before it is too late, the government must take action and transition schools to remote learning as COVID is rapidly infiltrating our province, cites, communities, schools and houses.
