JJ Moons in Tooting is equivalent of sitting inside of an air raid shelter during WWII. It is cramped, hot, and most importantly: uncomfortable. The furniture is outdated, there is little to no space to socialise, and the entire establishment is one long corridor of sordid despair. 

For those who haven’t been to JJ Moons, it’s a Spoons that acts as optical illusion; you step inside and it becomes a tardis in reverse. From the outside, it seems as though you could be stepping into any other South London Spoons: a normal front with a spacious interior equipped for socialising and raucous chatter and entertainment. With banks and charity shops in Tooting that seem bigger and more inviting, it’s no wonder Moons is frowned upon by locals. 

I have no doubt that the regulars here (whom have a mean age of approximately 78 years old) were involved in the last refurbishment back in their teens, and have since watched it become dilapidated and escape into the vortex of the previous millennium.

JJ Moons NEEDS a space for fellow drunkards to connect their minds and exchange conversation that makes no sense whilst simultaneously changing the world. 

JJ Moons NEEDS to be updated to the 21st century and given the opportunity to thrive whilst the street outside evolves into something modern and exciting.

With this, I implore you to sign this petition and make this a priority not only for Wetherspoons, but for the government to help make this change and restore community health, spirit and intoxication to its up and coming youth demographic.
