The foster care system NEEDS to be changed. States are not adequality checking foster parent's backgrounds, as a result these foster parents are abusing and neglecting their foster kids. There have been reports of physical, sexual, and emotional abuse all from the parents. The system also fails to protect these minors leaving sexual predators eyeing them as easy targets to bring into the sex trafficking world. In just 2013, it was reported that over half of children sex trafficking victims recovered from FBI searches were children in foster care or group homes. The system needs to be changed! No child should have to go through this kind of trauma. The states need to be much more awre of who they are giving out foster licenses to.
