No Eureka F Street Super Corridor

Humboldt County Supervisors approved the 2017 General Plan without taking into consideration traffic and other consequences for changing road usage. With Broadway welcoming corporations, including the installation of street lights, the diversion of freeway traffic has found its way to the neighborhoods along F Street, increasing accidents, speeds, and loads that were not intended to travel across these roads. Our vulnerable-use populations (children, elders, disabled) are unable to cross the street in person or in a vehicle without harm. Property values have decreased in the area and neighbors will continue to be harmed should nothing be done. With officials in charge (County Supervisor Rex Bohn and Public Works officials) preferring to come up with their own solution and not consult with Redwood Coast Action Agency for a scientific study of the area (the last one having been done 10 years ago), or consult with the neighborhood experts (the property owners & tenants), or immediately act on the ultimate best action that could be taken (a street light), citizens are all at risk whether they live here or pass through. The county must act immediately and not waste time or money. Sign your name if you agree and demand that these officials immediately remove the liability from our unsafe streets.
