Redwood City Equity started this petition to Mayor Howard and Vice Mayor Hale Redwood City Council and

The City of Redwood City is currently in the process of prioritizing and allocating funding for 2021-2022.

The financial impacts of COVID-19 have created tremendous needs throughout our community.

Residents would like the opportunity to provide input on the 2021-2022 budget and the issues, programs, and services that are important to us, such as:

  1. Affordable Housing & Homelessness
  2. Police and Fire Services
  3. Parks and Recreation
  4. Transportation

Residents request a Special Public Study Session next month, in April. This will allow the community to give input and provide enough time to make adjustments prior to the budget being passed in June.

If the budget process proceeds as scheduled, residents will be forced to wait for the 2022-2023 budget.

In these difficult times, we must ensure there is adequate funding to meet the needs of our community; they are far too great to put them off for another year.
