Reduce the speed limits in Hambledon
On Wednesday 1st of June, there was a RTA, where a single a driver managed to crash into a stationary car, at some force, which then shunted forward hitting the car parked in front, in turn that one then hitting the van parked behind them. The car which caused the accident, flipped over onto its roof on impact with the parked car.
Hambledon is a small village on the outskirts of Waterlooville, the current speed requirement is 30 MPH, some of the traffic that travels through the village, do not always adhere to this. This is not the first accident that has occurred in the village, where cars have been damaged, not just by cars, but also tractors, going way too fast, the roads are narrow especially when cars are parked along the side of the road.
Along with this, its also the high sided vehicles which attempt to come through the village and can cause a dangerous situation
There are a large number of children who are constantly out on their bikes, scooters and skateboards, people walking and cyclists. There is also a primary school situated in the village. It wont be long before someone is seriously hurt or even worse, killed. We believe that, having a slower speed restrictions in place will and can stop this happening.
The village needs to be a 20 zone, and with speed bumps along the way.
