Why this petition matters

Started by JJ JJ

Evergreen speedway, while it is a SuperFun entertaining racing track, at the same time it is producing an unbearable and unhealthy level of noise during weekdays and weekends. This level of noise is affecting our life on daily basis. It is fundamentally affecting our use and enjoyment of our real estate properties which is a basic right granted for everyone by law. Our families, kids, and elderly are severely impacted. Elderly gets a headache out of it and sometime needs to take medication. Babies  are not able to sleep or take a nap as they keep waking up panicking due to the noise that comes from Speedway. These levels it even poses some serious health concerns.

We are even not able to invite friends to our homes due to this unbelievable level of sound. Almost every home in Monroe and Snohomish around the area is impacted. Something needs to change! We need Snohomish county to step in and fulfill its role and responsibility to protect all people's rights.

At this moment, we as a community thinking of below 2 options:

Options 1) Either the Speedway should be moved to somewhere else where there are no housing and won't disrupt anyone's routine life

Option 2) Put some Noise barriers that can reduce down the noise level drastically and Limit the Racing to weekdays only. No Weekends Racing please.

Monroe has grown very fast in past few years. We love Beautiful city of Monroe and we take proud in calling it a Home. But if this situation continues, we fear that we will really feel that we belong here and we are really a part of the community.

It's a high time to re-think and re-evaluate the situation.

We spent all our life savings into our homes and we pay taxes. And we respectfully ask Snohomish county and Monroe city to work with us on finding the right mitigations.

Respectfully,

Monroe Residents
