Welcome to The Bottle Project, We are RLE 2.B, second year students  from the UST college of Nursing and this is our advocacy. THE BOTTLE PROJECT aims to promote the use of a more sustainable and eco-friendly option of pharmaceutical packaging to combat single-use plastics in medicine packaging, specifically blister packs, and these are REUSABLE pill bottles.

The pharmaceutical side of plastics use is often overlooked as compared to 36 million tons. 100,000 tons does not even seem that much; however, a small portion?already contains massive amounts of detriment to our environment when combined together. Guided by the Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations, this advocacy aims to target the following SDGs :

SDG 12: Responsible consumption and production

SDG 13:  Climate Change

SDG 14: Life Below Water

SDG 15: Life on land.

By now it is common knowledge that single use plastics are bad not only for the environment but also for our health. Additionally, we know that there are certain medications that are sensitive to external factors so that its purity and integrity would not be compromised. Yet, there are medications that we can store inside pill bottles so that we can help to lessen our carbon footprint. In the production of pill bottles, they have less usage on natural resources and emission of greenhouse gasses.

Many news and issues related to our home planet are becoming relevant due to what us humans are doing.  With our advocacy, it will help in decreasing the plastic wastes and improve the situation of our planet. Together, we can start a movement that aims to promote a greener environment for us and our future generations. Join and sign our petition now!

Love,

The Bottle Project Team
