I’m signing the petition as I had a similar experience this past spring and had to fly to another country in order to get an appointment!!! And unfortunately It turned out I had waited too long and the delay caused the end of my fertility (if you catch uterine cancer on time you can do something about it!) The whole experience with the NHS has been beyond traumatising.
Homerton hospital would only give me a ‘phone appointment’ and considered my situation not urgent. I was begging them over the phone as I knew something was wrong. They kept telling me I was ‘too young’ for anything serious and it could be just ovulation, period pain. After weeks of heavy bleeding I even went to the A&E and they sent me back home with painkillers and not even a pelvic examination! Something that should never happen when someone is on such pain, no matter whether there’s a pandemic going on or not, whoever goes to the A&E should get a proper check.
I called them again in pain and I was told to wait until the ‘end’ of the pandemic, and again, they left me in an emotional state of panic, as no one knew how long the pandemic would have gone for?!
Heavy bleeding wouldn’t stop for months so I flew to another country for an appointment

I hope I. a mere man, may support this. Luckily - as far as it can be - the specifically male cancer generally occurs much later in life, and usually yields symptoms, even when the enlargement is benign; but the shadow that conceals the several risks - even to much younger women - is not beyond bring into light It is important, for the health of women and their freedom from anxiety, that they should not have to wait until symptoms appear, and action is taken by a G.P., after several visits. It should be routine. After all, it is also in the interests of the NHS, since it is less costly to give treatment at an early stage, and to save more lives. The ladies matter much, and must receive due care.
