Reduce fares whilst Bolton rail users can't use the rails.

Rail Users of Bolton look forward to the new electrified lines and minor delays and work are of course understandable and necessary.

However, commuters to and from Bolton were asked to spend 2 weeks travelling by rail replacement buses; and are now being forced to spend an additional six weeks on rail replacement services whilst repairs take place at Moses Gate. SOne times situations like this are unavoidable, but rail users are being charged at the same rate for their travel but receiving a sub par service with travellers spending between 1 to 3 hours a day in extra commute time to and from the workplace

Passengers pay increased fares year on year to sustain and improve the level of service; Not receiving this level of service is completely unacceptable!

The timeframe for fixing the problem  is also completely shocking; as the impact on road and rail users is having a negative impact on peoples lives and the local economies. More should be done to reduce this impact.

We request that during this period


- all rail fares to and from Bolton stations are charged at a reduced rate
- season passes are at a reduced fares
- partial refunds are made available for rail passengers to reflect the reductions
- More focus; priority and resources are put onto fixing the bridge at Moses Gate to reduce delays; and the impact on road and rail users
