Trying to get my local school to change school schedule

Trying to get my local school to change school schedule
Redlands high school currently has a new school schedule in place, elected without the voices of students.
With this new schedule, students that are involved in extracurriculars will end later into the evening and force students to have less and less time for important school work, which contradicts the thought of giving more time for students to sleep. If they are going later into the evening, then that means they have to stay up later anyway, which means the later start time would be useless to them.
This schedule also makes it really hard for parents to pick up their kids who are in high school and middle school on time because they now end within 5 minutes of each other.
We want to propose a new schedule, one that complies with the California state law of schools starting at 8:30. Our proposed schedule will end at 2:50 rather than 3:20. This gives students involved in extracurriculars a chance to end sooner and still give the students time for passing periods between classes, and make room for very important studying time. Please consider helping the Redlands High School student body in improving their academic success and opportunities for excellence.
Proposed new schedule:
Zero period 7:30 to 8:20
First period 8:30 to 9:20
Second period 9:30 to 10:20
Third period 10:30 to 11:20
Fourth period 11:30 to 12:20
Lunch 12:25 to 12:50
Fifth period 1:00 to 1:50
Sixth period 2:00 to 2:50
