Why this petition matters

Started by Hasina Ahmed

As a parent of a child at Redbridge Primary School, we have found it to be extremely dangerous to get across Redbridge Lane East, as there is no safe way to cross between Somersby Gardens and Windermere Gardens. Furthermore as a mum, with a buggy, who is simply trying to get to school on time, it can sometimes feel almost impossible. I know many parents must feel the same way.

I contacted our local MP: Wes Streeting two years ago about this issue. He communicated this to Redbridge Council, who agreed that they would implement an island to address this problem.

Two years later, Redbridge council have said that they are no longer willing to do this, as there is insufficient space. This is very disappointing, as they have a duty to keep residents and children safe. Surprisingly, Wes Streeting has now accepted this and feels the council have done their best. I think this is wrong and feel that we need to unite together, to get our voices heard.

Please sign this petition and forward on to anyone else. If we manage to get many people on board, we can succeed. Only then, can Wes Streeting be contacted and we can let him know that there are other people, that are facing difficulties crossing this road. There is strength numbers and we will not be ignored!
