Why this petition matters

Started by Usama Nadeem

The latest notifications from NUST administration says that the semester would be extended for two weeks and examination would be conducted FTF (physically). This news has been really disturbing as it brings many challenges for the final year students.

Why does it bring challenges for these students?

  1. Many students have secured a job and have given a tentative month of June as the joining date for their positions. Delaying the exams means that these students would not be able to join their respective jobs which could potentially mean that their employer might be forced to take away their job.
  2. Some students have already applied for Masters and are required to leave for the next phase of their education. Delaying the semester would potentially hinder their admissions.
  3. Some students are planning on preparing for CSS examinations that are due in February of 2022. Each passing day reduces the short time they have at their disposal.

Moreover, the current pandemic has brought a plethora of obstacles for students. The delayed graduation would harm each and every student's life. There might be further delays and further semester extensions if the situation worsens.

Please sign this petition and raise your voice in order for NUST Rector and administration to hear these student's voice.
