The problem I and various dog owners in Yarnton Village are faced with, is that there isn't anywhere close by that is safe, secure and suitably maintained where we're able to walk our dogs.

However, there is a spacious park located in Yarnton, which could be enjoyed by all. Sadly, the Yarnton Parish Council have deemed a dog ban necessary. Therefore, dogs are not permitted on these grounds.

Lynne Whitley - the Parish Clerk, advised me that the dog ban was agreed due to a petition made some time ago (I'm still waiting for clarification on when the dog ban was originally instated).

The park is seldom used, apart from a few football games a week. During the other 90% of the time, it could be used by dog walkers. Is the issue dog mess? Then add more dog waste bins (there is currently one inside this park already) and according to the Parish Council, it states on their website that they have a dog warden to ensure people pick up dog mess.

I can see two solutions. Either lift the dog ban and let everyone who's a part of Yarnton enjoy the local park. Or, make somewhere close by accessible to dogs and their owners.

This is something I'm very passionate about and I know others will feel the same. That's why I need your help and support. Whether you're a Yarnton resident with same/similar views or just simply an animal lover, please sign this petition and spread the word. Thank you.
