Catfishing is becoming popular in the fishing industry. More and more people are turning to catfishing every year. It’s becoming big in the industry also.
This is why we need to get catfish recognized as a game fish. A limit of 50 catfish a day is way more than a person can consume by themselves in a day. Hundreds of fish taken out of the water system daily most not even reaching the size of maturity. If catfish where recognized as a game fish kreel limits and size limits would be put into play. Who doesn’t love hooking into a big catfish? The fight is awesome. But without limits of size and possession and bow fishing them we won’t have catfish that get to trophy sizes and our future won’t experience them.
Bow fishing for them is a negative impact. Most people that bow fish them just shoot them and dump them dead back into the rivers any size they can shoot. A lot of trophy size fish killed for enjoyment. 30+ pound catfish are not good for eating so why shoot them?  Well because it’s fun for them.
So let’s get these fish the recognition they deserve in the state of Pennsylvania.
