Why this petition matters

Started by Benjamin Van eldik

I served my country for 30 plus years in the Military and in the Federal Government Public Service. I was never deployed to WAR/ Peace keeping zones while in the Military but I was sent while working as a Federal Government Public servant. Hence I have been trying to get recognition for Public Servants (from any Government Agency) who were sent to serve in active WAR/Peace Keeping zones around the world. I was sent to several Australian designated WAR/peace keeping zones and undertook my duties along side both Military and AFP personnel where I saw and experienced the same dangers and horrors of WAR as my counterparts. However I did not receive any daily WAR allowances at the time and there is no recognition and/or  entitlements to any pensions associated with having served in a WAR Peace Keeping zone. My aim is to raise public awareness in the hope that this issue becomes of  political concern and in need of rectification. There needs to be equity for anyone who has been willing to give their all in the service and protection of our country.
