Reclaiming Our Role as Good Stewards Over Our Own Destiny

Reclaiming Our Role as Good Stewards Over Our Own Destiny
Why this petition matters

The problem is genocide of Native Black Americans by the justice system that does not protect Native Black Americans.
It has impacted us by causing increased trauma and violence that has lasted over more than 200 years and has increased over the previous 8 years and become a continual cycle of violence perpetuated on our bodies, minds and souls by police, violence by extremist, government representatives, media, whether verbal attacks or more than often physical attacks in conjunction with dog whistles and hate speech. This has left our Communities around this Nation in a state of emergency in need of mental health care, resources, and a right that is not being addressed the Right to feel safe in our homes, our communities, on our jobs, in our schools, in stores or just trying to reach our destinations.
We are grateful to those who are speaking out about these injustices to their community's because we recognize we are not the only ones affected by this hate and violence. But we are the only ones who have not been given the reassurance that we need to feel safe. Because of that we are unable to use this time as other Ethnic groups are doing the work to help end this crisis. Our community's and families are suffering continually everyday. If one does not feel safe in their home, on their job, at church, at school, on the street, in a store. Then no matter their status rich or poor whether their hierarchy of needs are met they are still living in a heightened since of danger constantly, these are causes of post traumatic stress, anxiety, fight or flight, rendering them incapable of keeping themselves safe if approached by the entities that represent those who have violated their civil rights, human rights continually.
Our proposal Mr. President Biden, Governor Newsom, is that We be given the statis of a Protected group under the law, so law enforcement will not encroach upon our rights. We want the right to govern our communities to choose the officers that we will allow to address our concerns, we want the right to build a coalition that addresses the issues that affect our communities state by, state, city by city, and the resources to build that coalition.
We are asking this to be declared a state of emergency because the work is long overdue. If we are delayed in getting what we need again, we see in the future more unjust deaths, more incarcerations of the mentally ill, young lives, senior lives in danger of being lost to lack of proper care, and education. Our ability to grow economically, is being stifled by violence, and a system that has been in place far to long to hold Native Black Americans back. We are asking for the chains of this unjust system to be broken so that we can move forward and reclaim our role as good stewards over our own destiny.
We pray, Mr. President, that you hear our concern and our call and will acknowledge that we have the right to live safe in America. We as people of this United States have long been denied our "inalienable rights to the right of Life, Liberty, and pursuit of Happiness."
