Rebbeca Pow MP please reject deals with extremist DUP

0 have signed. Let’s get to 500!

We ask that Rebecca Pow MP oppose any deal, coalition or arrangement of any kind between her party and the extremist DUP, that she refuse to serve in office in a government propped up by the DUP and that she make a public statement to this effect.

Rebecca and the Conservatives have no mandate to do backroom deals with a party that seeks to legalise homophobic discrimination, denies same-sex couples their civil rights, forces women into labour against their will, denies the reality of climate change and makes no apology for its history of support for terrorist paramilitary groups in Northern Ireland.  We ask that Rebecca demonstrates her total opposition to a party that advocates this and refuses to give succour to the DUPs bigotry.

As set out by Jonathan Powell, the chief negotiator in Northern Ireland from 1997-2007, to do a deal with the DUP would be deeply irresponsible, imperiling the government's role as the impartial arbiter of the Good Friday Agreement and playing fast and loose with the peace process at a time of great instability in Northern Irish politics following the Brexit vote, the threat of a hard border and the collapse of the executive last year.

Rebecca claims to support LGBT+ rights, Women’s rights and accept the reality of climate change, it is on this basis that she won a mandate to serve as Member of Parliament for Taunton Deane. We ask that Rebecca respects this mandate and demonstrates her loyalty to the moderate majority of Taunton Deane voters who reject violent misogyny, homophobic hate, anti-science and extremism by fully and publicly opposing any deal, coalition or arrangement of any kind with the extremist DUP.
