Eliminate the Waitlist for Opioid Treatment in Stanislaus County

Over 200 people are waiting for services they need to be safe and well. How will you answer them?

For the past 5 years, we have struggles with a waiting list that at one point reach 500 community members trying to get help for their opioid addiction. Consider what waiting means for these individuals. Waiting not only places these individuals at higher risk for overdose, but it also increases medical health risks, provokes potential criminal activity, and places strain on families trying to manage their addiction on their own.

Eliminating the waitlist is not only the right and decent thing to do, it is the medically preferable thing to do AND the financially sensible thing to do. Furthermore, timely treatment and support services reduce the chance of these individuals ending up in very expensive justice systems or hospital emergency rooms, and will ultimately help them become better contributing members to society.

Please help do the right thing: approve further treatment in Stanislaus County.
