Local school taxes are out of control.  Citizens  of this school district pay, on average, $2,000 to $3,000  more than the surrounding communities.  A large percentage of residents are Senior Citizens living on fixed incomes with no children in school.  The school district does not have a very good rating.  Money is being wasted on mediocre results.  Families have moved out because of the high taxes.  Imagine paying between $7,000 and 11,000 dollars in taxes in a community with a mediocre school rating!  And this is for townhomes and small to average size single homes!  Something must be done if we are to continue to have a viable community. The school district should be audited and held accountable to every taxpayer.  Lowering school taxes need not shift more of the burden onto families with school children either.  A strict budget control should be imposed on the district managers and the elected board should have to answer to the voters at the ballot box.  It is time to change the individuals in charge and replace them with fiscally conservative and responsible members.  It is time to stand up and demand an improved school district at a more reasonable tax rate.  Home owners could realize a more equitable price for their homes, Realtors could sell a higher volume at increased prices, New Businesses could be established and existing businesses see increased revenue.Please join in this effort to bring our school district under control and demand lower school taxes!  Also consider running for running for School Board positions when the opportunity exists.
