Network Rail have blocked access to the footway across the railway line in Edwinstowe. Despite installing new styles a few years ago, putting a new footway in and having signs advising walkers to look out for trains Network Rail have now put signs up saying "Private Property" and "No Public Right of Way"

Many residents and visitors to Edwinstowe have used this crossing - some say for over 70 years - and the loss of it, without no notice whatsoever, means that a lovely circular walk, loved by dog walkers and joggers for years, is now suddenly out of bounds.

Nottinghamshire County Council are involved and hopefully a public consultation will take place on whether this should be declared a legal right of way but it is important that Network Rail recognise the local strength of feeling on this so please sign this petition to keep this valuable footway.
