As a retired physician, it saddens me to see the growth in homelessness, which is entirely predictable following the closures of long-term-care facilities and psychiatric beds in the past few decades.
It is time to re-build long term care facilities, with thought for the needs of the homeless and the tax-payers who are funding the endless round of shuffling these unfortunate folk around.
Stop moving the deck chairs on The Titanic and take action to solve this crisis.

Better to have those in need in the open where they can be supported.

This is a recipe for disaster. What happened to protecting our forests, rivers, streams, flora, fauna? Yes, homeless people need help and support but this solution is short sighted and just hides the problem...not even very well for the avid park user. We must do better.

We need a solution not a quick fix. Seeing the damage and garbage that tent city created im not interested in the irreparable damage that will happen to green spaces with this decision. I believe there can be a better solution.

Time to look at cities who have dealt with their homeless people...it CAN be done. The parks are not a safe place for this to happen. Figure it out.

It's been out of hand for decades. The whole situation just keeps getting worse exponentially.

End prohibition and spend the money you save from incarcerating people on helping people.

Canada is the second biggest country in the world, one of the richest in natural resources, with a tiny population, and we can't make sure our citizens have their basic needs met?

Shame on Canada.

Shame on Capitalism.

Shame on the elite for profiting from the war on drugs while traumatizing and oppressing addicts and people with mental illness. The poor in general.

This is the behavior of psychopaths
