I believe it's important for people to get the education and training they need to be successful and get out of poverty.

For years this program has supported the parents of RCSD children. It has been a safety net for adults who, for whatever reason, dropped out of school but choose to return to better their lives. OACES has been a haven for refugees to learn English and acclimate to the customs of the United States. The OACES program has been a model for other Adult Education programs around the country, WHY ARE WE DISMANTELLING IT??

There is a CNA shortage and this will continue in the future. We need good CNA's to care for our Residents.

The Rochester City School District should prioritize Adult Education and Workforce Training. OACES teaches and trains the parents of HUNDREDS of RCSD youth each year. This plays significantly when in place, and is a detriment when not in place. Sometimes common sense is not so common...

This program is essential to the well-being of the Rochester community. There is no other service like it in terms of what it does to prepare people linguistically, vocationally and in terms of obtaining necessary degrees. If the Rochester City School District really wants to have a member sitting at the table of the Anti-Poverty Initiative, it needs to put it money where its mouth is and support programs under its own roof that effectively empower people dealing with poverty. Do the right thing, RCSD! Put your money where your mouth is!

I believe this program provides an essential need to our community by preparing non-English speakers to integrate into the Rochester community.

This is a great program that has not only helped me, but also helped many others. It has open doors and continue to provide for many like myself today.
