As graduation approaches it is saddening to hear we will not be receiving a proper graduation. UAB has been encouraging the attendance of football at Legion Field and basketball games at Bartow Arena, considering these events never tend to be socially distanced properly - it does not make sense for Spring Graduation to be cancelled.

This year has changed tremendously, as classes were in person, hybrid and even remote, yet tuition was FULL price. The least UAB can provide for graduating students is a socially distanced graduation. A video graduation is not sufficient enough for the thousands of dollars we have spent to attend this University.

We as the Class of 2021 are asking for the chance to walk across the stage, or even Legion Field to congratulate us on our accomplishments in our time at UAB as undergraduate students. 

We fall under the University of Alabama System and should be given the opportunity to walk at graduation just as The University of Alabama students do.
