As students of the School for Advanced Studies, we are driven to exceed at our highest academic potential. That being said, we often bear a large workload from both college and high school assignments. We are incredibly thankful for the opportunity of having an SAT prep program in Ray Dass. However, due to the unprecedented circumstances at the moment, many students are going through difficult times. With AP exams coming up in a few weeks, professors scrambling to finish teaching material, high school teachers wanting to review, and practice for the SAT taking place, the amount of assignments have become overwhelming. The addition of mandatorily having to attend two live sessions each week for Ray Dass becomes another thing to stay on top of. Through this petition, we ask that the faculty and staff of both SAS and Ray Dass take into account the current situation and physical and mental health of their students. Previously, students were completing the work given to them weekly without the aid of a virtual session. Therefore, we ask you not to make the live sessions mandatory, at least until AP exams are over. Help should be available for students who believe that they require further assistance.
