Ratify Oklahoma Bill, HB 2396, to educate students on Human Trafficking
The state of Oklahoma has had a rising problem in past years with the issue of human trafficking. Putnam City North's Government 6th Hour, in league with the Generation Citizen project, has made a collected effort to gather info on what Oklahoma legislature can do to inform students coming into both middle school and high school of the dangers presented by this rise. Using a bill presented to Oklahoma legislature, HB 2396, the state could be, "allowing certain nonprofit organizations to present sex trafficking and exploitation prevention and education programs for students...". This could impact the numbers dramatically, as awareness regarding human trafficking would better prepare students to either the tells of someone who is a victim of human trafficking, how to prevent them becoming a victim themselves, or how they can publicly make an effort to stop this. By signing this petition, we can rally support to this cause and show what the people say on the matter.
