Support Our Efforts To Gain More Access (Participation) to RIH Board of Education Meetings
Why this petition matters

On January 6, 2022 FLOW Parents Defending Education requested a policy change to the RIH Board of education that would grant the public greater access and participation to Board of Education Meetings. Current Policy #0167 PUBLIC PARTICIPATION IN BOARD MEETINGS requires community members to be physically present to ask questions.
We request the RIH BOE merge/update the existing policy with Policy #0164.6 - REMOTE PUBLIC BOARD MEETINGS DURING A DECLARED EMERGENCY. By doing so, the community can participate (making comments and asking questions) in-person or via Zoom meetings.
Meetings are now twice a month, a total of 21 meetings for the year, which makes it very difficult for FLOW parents and our community at large to participate in a meaningful way. Remote access is no longer an "emergency"; it's a necessity.
*Other districts have adopted similar policies and offer hybrid meeting access.
*We request that only residence from Franklin Lakes, Oakland and Wyckoff add their signatures.
*PLEASE SUPPORT AND SHARE THIS PETITION, THE DEADLINE IS FAST APPROACHING AS FLOW PDE WILL PRESENT YOUR SIGNATURES AT JANUARY 24TH MEETING TO FORTIFY THIS ACTION.
