Why this petition matters

Started by Frank Ruggiero

As many know, the Berrie Center, located at Ramapo College of New Jersey, was gifted the Curtain Call Café by the Wood Company. This café allowed students of all majors but mainly art majors to enjoy a quick snack, relax and socialize with other students. Recently, the Curtain Call Café has been moved to the Learning Commons which leaves the Berrie Center without any source of food. If students wish to purchase a snack or a drink, they are expected to run to the Learning Commons or to a vending machine. This can be difficult to perform between classes due to long lines at the cafe and clogged hallways.

Students of the arts humbly request for the space in the Berrie Center to be turned into a lounge with a few vending machines and a water fountain. Opening this lounge will allow students to unwind, make new friends, and grab a quick snack without the stress of being late to their next class. If you agree with this message please sign this petition to help make this change!

To further our point, it is important for students to have the opportunity to socialize with each other. This also gives many students across the college the chance to visit the Berrie Center when they typically are unlikely to visit. The arts is all about bringing people together, and we would love to do that by reopening the space.
