Child Marriage has been implemented and banned in India. But still, it exists on a large scale in the remote areas. Which is why we have to stop this madness. This is a violation of rights, and has a negative impact on health, emotional development, and education opportunities. Girls are more affected who are born from poor families, and with lower education levels are more likely to marry at a younger age. And girls married as children are more likely to: (1) Drop out of school (2) Have a low-paid job and (3) limited decision-making power at home.

Girls in India in ages 5-12 are more likely to experience child marriages, it is because of poverty and their families think that it would be difficult to find a good man when they get old. A lot of rights and freedom are taken away by child marriage. Some children are taking care of their husbands, some are already pregnant with their child, and some are looking for job. In fact, children should be sent to school. They should not be deprived of education. Children should be holding books and pens, not the responsibility of a family.

On top of all that, girls married early are more vulnerable to sexually transmitted infections like HIV. They wouldn't only be sexually harassed, abused, and maltreated, but their right to enjoy their youth would be taken away from them. If we don't act now, more than 150 million girls will become brides by 2030. Let us all try to put an end to this inhumane act and sign this petition. The future of our world is in children's hands.
