Everyone knows someone that works in a hospital. This could be a nurse, doctor, security guard, or a paramedic. These people are put at risk each and every day of contracting the sometimes life-threatening Covid-19. Even if these people feel safe on their floor because they are working with premature babies or orthopedic surgeries. Even if no one in the hospital you work at may possibly have it many nurses and doctors must go on transports. To get into the hospital you have to enter through the ER which is a danger in itself, but what if you could have been prepared with protective gear, N95 mask, gown, and eye protection, etc. Imagine if you walk into a hospital told that the patient you are working with has no risk for the disease, but then after working with them and the family you are told that they are being tested because they just returned from a level 2 country. How would you feel? Betrayed, unprotected, lied to? This is commonly happening around the US every day. We are unnecessarily risking the lives of the people that save ours. We could have easily avoided putting people and their families at risk simply because of withheld information that plays a big role in how a nurse/doctor is protected. We should all require all hospitals to share important information that could be putting someone and their family at risk.
