Seeking Justice for Antoinne Pitt

Seeking Justice for Antoinne Pitt
Why this petition matters

My name is Antoinne Pitt, I am 37 years of age I was born and raised in Portsmouth, Virginia. In 2001 I was sentenced to a total of 53 years so with good time I have approximately 28 years remaining. I was convicted of multiple crimes some which I did commit which were two separate robbery cases that came with a firearm and abduction case and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle. I was also convicted of first degree murder that came with a multitude of charges. A case in which my co- defendant confessed to as well as was pointed out by a eye witness as being the perpetrator who attempted to rob and shot the victim. My only part in the offense was I uttered let's go and then took off running with my co- defendant who committed suicide in Portsmouth City Jail after being pointed out by the witness. I was used as a scapegoat and given a 40 year sentence for these crimes that I didn't commit.
I have now been incarcerated for 18 years and have served the 13 year sentence that I plead guilty to in the City of Hampton, VA. The crimes that I did commit were robberies where no one was harmed. The 40 year sentence was solely the results of the crimes that my co- defendant confessed to before committing suicide.
I am in no way a detriment to society, but an asset and a positive influence. Since incarcerated I have completed a multitude of programs and trades and also created two programs entitled Thinking With A Purpose and C.O.A.T. (Countering Overdoses and Addiction Treatment) which will change the culture of out society. I have written a book entitled "Shadows of My Foot steps" ( lessons for the inner city youth) that is literally a guide for the youth that may come from similar environments.
I will be a prison advocate for the wrongfully convicted, and I will get a D.O.C. pass to come back to be that living example to show them that change is possible. I am no longer the person that I once was and seek forgiveness for the crimes that I did do and seek justice for the crimes that I did not do with your support.
