Marcus Winegan was arrested in July of 2008 at the age of 18 just 1 month after graduating high school and denied bond up to his trail a year later. He had never been in any trouble and this was his first offense. For an armed robbery he received over 100 years. After timed served and some suspensions he was ultimately sentenced to 52 years. On a first offense charge he was given more time than murders. At the time of his arrest his twins were only 6 months all they no about their father is that he's the greatest dad he can be from a distance. Marcus had a lawyer named Massie who decided to defend another suspect who ended up only being sentenced to 8 years. Massie referred Marcus parents to his brother who was also a lawyer named Joe Massie both of these actions seemed to be a conflict of interest but his parents agreed after paying Joe Massie thousands of dollars he told Marcus plead guilty and his guidelines would be around 13 years so Marcus agreed thinking he'd get to see his kids before they entered high school.
