My son needs open heart surgery and we have been waiting for an insurance approval for over a month. There should be some sort of time frame on approving or denying these authorizations especially if they are life saving. I know my son will not be the only one to benefit from this. Lots of people have to wait way longer than what they should. If the insurance companies started getting a fine for every claim that isn’t processed in a timely manner then maybe things would change.
